Project Description

The project occupies 57,000 m2 in Tajarhi, located in Libya’s far south along the desert trade roads to the Niger River, Lake Chad, and Sudan. It consists of multiple components designed for efficient livestock management and slaughter operations. Key facilities include a sheep slaughterhouse (1,200 m2) with a capacity of 400 heads/day, a calf and camel slaughterhouse (600 m2) with a capacity of 100 heads/day, and a cleaning and meat preparation hall (1,600 m2). The project also involves 21 sheep pens (12,000 m2, holding up to 10,100 heads), 24 calf pens (8,600 m2, holding up to 3,000 heads), and 32 camel pens (12,000 m2, holding up to 4,000 heads).
Additional facilities include a central feed warehouse (1,700 m2), a loading and unloading area, veterinary services such as laboratories and clinics for calves and camels (900 m2) and a similar facility for sheep (1050 m2). This adds to a residential building and a restaurant (2,300 m2) that accommodates 112 persons and an administrative building (1,200 m2) housing 40 persons. The project also incorporates a water treatment plant (375 m2, 250 m³/day capacity), a maintenance building (100 m2), two power plants (150 m2, 300 KW/h capacity), a waste recycling center (10 tons/day capacity), and various service buildings, including a cooker (200 m2), incinerator (45 m2, 650 kg/h burning capacity), and a mosque (85 m2).
