Project Description

The standard school buildings, typically constructed between 2005 and 2013, were designed using an evolving school model template. The buildings were constructed with either a right-hand or left-hand (mirrored) site layout and were designed for boys’ or girls’ school layouts. The basic template includes:
• Four Standard School types (S1) with a typical GFA of 9,199m².
• Two Standard School types (S3) with a typical GFA of 10,434m².
• Seven Standard School types (S5) with a typical GFA of 9,776m².
• Three Standard School types (S6) with a typical GFA of 9,747m².
• Nine Standard School types (S7) with a typical GFA of 9,133m².
• Two Village School types (Village) with a typical GFA of 5,730m².
The project is spread across different municipalities in Qatar, grouped into three packages:
• Package 1: 5 schools in Al Daayen Municipality and 3 in Umm Salal Municipality.
• Package 2: 2 schools in Al Wakra Municipality and 6 in Doha Municipality.
• Package 3: 9 schools in Al Rayan Municipality and 2 in Al Shahaniya Municipality.

During construction, 11 additional schools were incorporated into the contract:
• Package 1:
 Two (2) Primary Schools (S7)
 One (1) Primary School (S3)
 One (1) Preparatory School (S5)
 One (1) Preparatory School (S6)
• Package 2:
 Two (2) Secondary Schools (S8)
 Two (2) Secondary Schools (S6)
• Package 3:
 One (1) Secondary School (S8)
 One (1) Model School (S1)
The scope of work comprises classroom extensions, fire, and life safety upgrades to existing school buildings. The objective is to increase educational space and ensure compliance with the latest Qatar Civil Defense regulations for existing educational occupancy buildings in public schools.
